I-8 Campus
Urdu Educator - Grades 1 & 2
We are looking for an Urdu Educator to teach Grades 1 and 2 at Edopia’s I-8 campus. This is a full-time position.
Position Overview
At Edopia, we believe children learn a language best when they enjoy it. In Grades 1 and 2, children are still deciding how they feel about Urdu. Some hear it at home every day. Others hear it only a little. Both groups need a teacher who makes the language feel friendly, clear, and close to them.
In this role, you will teach children the sounds of Urdu and help them connect those sounds to letters, words, and short sentences. This is careful, step-by-step work. It is not about repeating the alphabet until it is memorised. It is about helping children hear, say, read, and write Urdu with understanding.
What You Will Do
Teach the sounds and letters of Urdu in a clear, step-by-step order
Help children join letters into words, and words into simple sentences
Teach correct letter shapes and early handwriting in the Urdu script
Build speaking and listening skills through stories, rhymes, poems, songs, and conversation
Plan lessons that suit children who are fluent in Urdu and children who are hearing it for the first time
Notice early signs of difficulty, such as mixing up similar sounds or avoiding reading, and support the child quickly
Share each child’s progress with parents and the team in a clear and honest way
What We Are Looking For
A strong understanding of Urdu sounds, letters, and early reading
Correct pronunciation and a good command of spoken and written Urdu
Experience or training in teaching young children, ideally Grades 1 and 2
The ability to teach handwriting and letter formation patiently
Skill in using stories, rhymes, and play to keep young children interested
Warmth, patience, and good classroom management
What Matters Here
Young children can tell very quickly whether a teacher enjoys the language they are teaching. When you enjoy Urdu, they learn to enjoy it too.
We also care about the small details. A child who mixes up two similar sounds, or who goes quiet during reading time, is telling you something. We want a teacher who notices this early and responds gently, so that no child feels left behind.
Your classroom should be a place where it is safe to try, to make mistakes, and to try again.
How to Apply
Please apply through our form. Include a short note about your background, any experience you have teaching young children, and how you would teach a child the sounds of Urdu in the first few weeks.
