Banigala, Islamabad
Literacy (English Language) Educator for Grade 1
Join Our Team as a Grade 1 Literacy Educator
We are looking for a Literacy Educator for Grade 1 at our Banigala campus.
This role is for someone who understands that learning to read and write is one of the most significant things that happens to a child and that how it is taught matters.
Position Overview
You will teach English language and literacy to Grade 1 children in a way that is structured, warm, and grounded in how young children actually learn language. You will need a strong command of English, spoken and written along with a real understanding of how early reading works. The expectation is that you can hold a child's attention through meaningful language experiences and move patiently from letter sounds to full expression without losing anyone along the way.
What You Will Do
Teach early reading and writing through structured, phonics-informed instruction
Build vocabulary, comprehension, and oral language alongside foundational literacy skills
Plan lessons that develop both decoding ability and a genuine love of language
Observe each child's literacy development closely and adapt your support accordingly
Assess reading and writing progress and communicate findings clearly with the team
Create a classroom environment rich in language, story, and purposeful communication
What We Are Looking For
Strong command of spoken and written English
Solid knowledge of phonics and how early literacy develops
Familiarity with structured approaches to reading instruction
Experience working with early primary or Grade 1 children
Patience, attentiveness, and genuine care for each child's progress
What Matters Here
We want someone who pays attention not just to whether a child got the answer right, but to how they are engaging with reading and writing day to day. If a child is avoiding certain tasks, guessing instead of decoding, or going quiet during reading time, we want you to notice that early and do something about it.
Confidence with language does not come from pushing through the curriculum. It comes from a child feeling that the classroom is a place where it is okay to try a word you are not sure of, get it wrong, and try again. That is the environment we want you to build.
How to Apply
Apply through our form and include a short note about your background, your experience teaching early literacy, and your approach to helping young children learn to read and write.
